This district, neighbour of the first by its south border, is in asquare composed of Capucines Boulevard on the West, Poissonieres Boulevard on the North and Sebastopol Boulevard on the East. This was an industrial precinct of Paris, and still remains the French place for garment and ready to wear makers and wholesalers. Called the Sentier, it is famous in all Europe, being the place of birth of trademarks such as Naf Naf, Kookaï, Zadig &Voltaire, Chevignon and so many more. This place is changing quickly to become the place of living for what French people call bobo meaning high level middle class mixing into workers district , and also a place for homosexuals. What is left of this glorious past is the Brongnart Palace, looking like a greek temple.
The 2nd district shares with the first the Notre Dame des Victoires circle where lots of fashion trademark get a show room like Kenzo or Laurent Mercadal.

Too small to contain all books and writings, a larger library has been erected in the 13th under Mitterrand Presidency. Going North west on 4 Septembre street you will emerge on the Opera .
